Why it is worth going

Why go?

To balance sea, nature, history and rest without unnecessary driving.

How to plan your visit

3 days: Begin with the Hisaronu shoreline and time at the house; spend day two around Orhaniye–Kizkumu, Turgut and Selimiye; use day three for Marmaris Castle, the old town, marina and Gunnucek.

5 days: Add a licensed boat trip departing from Hisaronu, Orhaniye or Selimiye, plus either Burunucu–Gunnucek or a Sedir Island day via Camli.

7 days: Add a Turunc–Amos–Kumlubuk day and a Bayir–Bozburun–Sogut/Saranda road trip. Insert a rest day in very hot weather or when travelling with children.

Suggested mini-plan

Keep the first day for the immediate area and rest, then place the boat or longer peninsula day according to the forecast. A house, garden or nearby-bay day between two busy outings makes the itinerary far more sustainable.

Practical tips

  • Treat the plan as flexible, not a compulsory checklist.
  • Move boat and museum days according to weather and hours.
  • Leave recovery time at the house after longer drives.
