Why it is worth going

Why go?

To combine a bay, waterfall, village square and waterfront in one scenic drive.

How to plan your visit

Key stops are Kizkumu in Orhaniye, the waterfall and shore in Turgut, the historic plane-tree area in Bayir and a waterfront walk in Selimiye. GoTürkiye lists a cycling route in the same area at 57 km, but that is not the exact distance of this driving itinerary.

Roads are winding and narrow in places. Limit long walks in peak summer heat, avoid unsafe roadside parking and reduce night driving.

Suggested mini-plan

Start in Hisaronu and continue through Orhaniye/Kizkumu, Turgut Waterfall, Bayir and Selimiye. Allow a full day if adding a swim or long meal, and decide your Selimiye departure time in advance so the final drive remains in daylight.

Practical tips

  • Fill up before setting out.
  • Plan the return in daylight where possible.
  • Park only in safe, designated places on narrow roads.
